transitorystory:

this is who i was and what i was doing exactly one year ago. i can’t believe it’s been a whole year since surgery! what?! i’ll do an update video soon. my scars are healing great and i’m even getting a cute little patch of chest hair. this was definitely one of the best days of my life. yayyy.

my great friend jill is the voice behind the camera. :) she was one of the people who came down to take care of me last year.

2468) The FTM trans* community is so divided, on so many issues all at once. Can we use the word “community” anymore? We can’t be called a “unit”. Too much miscommunication, too little understanding, too much anger, unchecked egos, and a complete lack of willingness to discuss an issue without beginning it with “fuck you”. We ALL have something in common. We’ve all felt hurt, or angered, or rejected. We’ve all been excluded from one thing or another. Shouldn’t that be enough to unite us?

Oh my god. Getting turned on in a binder is awkward because your nipples are all smooshed so it hurts when they get stiff but then it feels good if you’re into that okay I’m done.

This. All of it.

This youtube project is really touching, and a testament to how gender norms, even transgender norms, pervade and try to rule over peoples’ bodies.

*disclaimer: this is totally not to bash those who have had what are considered “normative” experiences with transitioning and being trans. This is just to bring light to the fact that there are many different ways of expressing every gender identity, even a trans one.
